Introducing

Alzheimer's Association South Dakota

The Alzheimer's Association South Dakota serves all 66 counties by providing care and support to those impacted by Alzheimer's or a related dementia. These services include care consultations which are done one-on-one or with entire families. These consultations are carried out in our office, at individuals' homes, in long-term care facilities and even on conference calls, so that anyone who lives anywhere in South Dakota has access to our services. We help families navigate this disease and are there for them as Alzheimer's/dementia progresses and their needs change. We provide information and referrals on issues such as communications, behaviors, long-term care, safety, legal and financial planning. We provide community education to help South Dakota residents better understand the disease and also educate those working in care facilities around the state. We provide caregiver support groups, and also host an early-stage support group and social engagement program for those who've been recently diagnosed. All of these services are provided at no cost to South Dakota families and are funded by our donors. Nationally, the Alzheimer'sAssociation is the largest non-profit funder of Alzheimer's research in the world.
