Introducing
Booth Society Inc.
The Booth Society, Inc. is the nonprofit friends group of the D.C. Booth Historic National Fish Hatchery & Archives. Our mission is promoting, preserving, and enhancing the educational, cultural, and recreational opportunities at D.C. Booth Historic National Fish Hatchery & Archives, in cooperation with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, for the benefit and enjoyment of the public.
The Booth Society helps provide visitor services, promotional, and financial support to the hatchery. Educational outreach and youth programs are provided to hatchery visitors and the local community. The organization is actively involved with the historic venues on-site - the 1905 Historic Booth House, the #3 Fish Rail Car replica, the Yellowstone Boat, and the Von Bayer Fisheries Museum - helping with maintenance and tours. Information is provided about the four species of trout in the ponds - rainbow, brown, brook and cutthroat and the history of fish culture in the United States.
The Pond Shop, the organization's gift shop, carries educational and promotional gift items including books, puzzles, hiking sticks, T-shirts, caps and much more. Fish food is available through dispensers and at the gift shop, allowing visitors the opportunity to feed the fish.
