Introducing
Friends of the Paha Sapa Grotto
The Friends of the Paha Sapa Grotto is seeking to raise money for cave exploration, conservation, and research, particularly in the Black Hills. Very few places on Earth are left completely unexplored and untouched. The preservation of access to explore these areas is essential. Exploration is the primary tool that allows us ask new questions based on new observations and research the answers to those questions. Keeping these areas protected once they are explored is also essential to bringing back good data. Reaching the farthest out points in Black Hills caves require multi-day expeditions underground and are some of the most remote places that a person can go in a cave on planet Earth. These kinds of expeditions are often supported mostly by explorers and researchers out of their own pockets. The Black Hills is home to one of the world's prime locations for this treasure to humanity and The Friends of the Paha Sapa Grotto aims to support this mission for humanity.
