Introducing
Habitat for Humanity Greater Watertown Region
Habitat for Humanity Greater Watertown Region builds simple, decent places to live at the lowest cost possible. The homes are built by HFHGWR, the families, volunteers and, when professional expertise and/or licensing is required, contractors. Prospective homeowners commit to contributing at least 250 hours of sweet equity to the house building process; the last three homeowners have contributed upwards to 500 hours. All funds for building the home are raised by HFHGWR who serves as the lender for the mortgage. Homeowners repay HFHGWR for their home with a no interest, 30–40 year mortgage.
