Introducing
Sturgis Center for the Arts
Sturgis Center for the Arts was founded in 2004 and adopted this mission to provide an environment of learning and education in the arts and to support and expand the arts in our community. For our Board of Directors and managing team, this mission has always been the driving force behind our motivation and constantly evolving vision. We are pleased to offer a wide variety of art, music, theatre, and less-traditional arts programs to the vibrant Sturgis and Black Hills community; a community that was and continues to be our inspiration.
Our pottery wheels spin year round, from autoharp to ukulele music and voice lessons are provided weekly, along with monthly art classes offered for adults and children. Being an active partner in our community, our 2019 summer program included two free mini music/theater camps for students in grades 1 to 6, and offering free craft/art opportunity for all ages at weekly Music on Main in downtown Sturgis, SD. We partner with Sturgis Public Library on art shows, Sturgis Area Chamber of Commerce offering "Farmers Market" outlet for local produce and products, along with an annual Black Hills Storytellers Halloween event.
