Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. The Salvation Army has been serving the Sioux Falls community since 1889. Current services include: Sallie's Table weekend feeding program, Senior Neighbor Luncheon, Senior Commodity Box Distribution, Youth Summer Camping, Youth After School Programming, Pathway of Hope - for those seeking to move beyond crisis to crisis living, Emergency Food Pantry, Utility & Rental Assistance, holiday food assistance for Thanksgiving and Christmas, Christmas Toys for Children, Prison Toy Lift ministry - gifts for children of incarcerated parents, Back to School clothing for children, Paint a Thon - house painting for seniors, and Work Enablement Program - work and tool assistance for those beginning a new job.
